Just a diary for basic car knowledge for myself. Of course, there is info all over online, but it's nice to have your own notebook of things.
Battery
Always charge POSITIVE FIRST.Lasts about 5 years before needing to be replaced.
Most common type (and one currently used): Lead acid
> Inside are cells of lead dioxide (PbO2) plate and lead (Pb) plate submerged in sulfuric acid
> chemical reaction that creates ions which move between the plates and create electricity
> sent to battery terminals > distributed to electric system
Disadvantage: battery is filled with caustic liquid that can leak if battery tips or cracks.
Engine Coolant (aka Antifreeze)
Intake Plenum Tube (IPT)
Wipers
